Victoria Falls Safari Lodge: 20 Years On

Victoria Falls Safari Lodge

I was last in Zimbabwe in 1994, as a wide-eyed seven-year-old, who had just entered the first grade; therefore I think it appropriate that I return two decades later, in the week of my Master’s graduation.

I am staying in Victoria Falls – which the local Tonga people call: Mosi-oa-Tunya meaning “The smoke that thunders” – to celebrate another milestone, namely the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge‘s 20th birthday celebrations.

Just like myself over the last two decades, the lodge – which has retained its place as one of the most popular accommodation options in the region – has experienced numerous important milestones. And there are many interesting plans for the coming months and years. In the next few days I’ll be participating in a number of exciting activities that guests can experience in the region in celebration of this auspicious occasion, as part of the inaugural African Bloggers Network (ABN) trip.

I’ll upload more blog posts upon my return, but in the meanwhile join the celebrations by following my posts on Twitter and Instagram (@IgaMotylska). The hashtag to follow is #VFSL and #AfricanBlogNet.

I am a guest of The Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, which is managed by Africa Albida Tourism, in partnership with ABN’s media partners: Traveldudes.org and Travel Concept Solution.
